I've seen SO many great covers out there recently! So, you tell me, how have you developed your book cover? Or, how do you plan to do it?
I've designed some covers and advised on art direction for others, working with talented graphic designers. That's definitely the way I prefer to go!
I pay a cover designer, but I usually have a direction and image I want her to use.
ReplyDeleteAwesome you can design your own covers. I doubt I'm that talented.
ReplyDeleteIf you design yours, you can design others!
ReplyDeleteI started out having a friend design my covers. Then I learned some stuff and designed a few of my own. Of course, now I usually do pay someone to design the cover because what I have in mind is often way beyond my skills.
ReplyDeleteI design my own at the moment. I love them. I love having complete control of what they look like. Yet I would consider a graphic artist in the future if I could afford it.
ReplyDeleteWow! There's such a mix on this poll - very cool, you guys.
ReplyDeleteMiranda - That's a good way to go. The best of both worlds.
Natalie - I have a little background from my day job, so that helps.
Alex - Maybe in the future! But there are definitely other more talented folks out there.
Cherie - Cool! I love Reborn's cover.
Christine - That's awesome! I like the 13th Floor covers a lot.
