Taking Hogwarts Home

The final Harry Potter movie comes out this week. Can you believe it?! In honor of all the hoopla (and JK’s announcements about Pottermore), I thought we could have a little fun with everyone’s favorite world of witchcraft, wizardry and muggles.
If you could bring three aspects of Harry’s world into ours—spells, food, sports, anything— what would they be?


For me, it’s:
  • Quidditch
  • A penseive (To capture all those flighty moments of inspiration so I can examine them later and string them together into a book)
  • Butterbeer (In my mind, it doesn’t taste like beer at all. More like a liquid version of a Werther’s)

    I've only read the first book so far, and unfortunately my memory of the movies is a bit muddled, but let's see...

    1) Quidditch, of course.
    2) An owl that delivers your mail.
    3) That thing in the 3rd movie (and I presume the 3rd book) which they use to go back in time. Don't remember its name.

    Did you know they actually created Butterbeer?! It's available at the Harry Potter Theme park. I always imagined it to taste like a Werthers too.

    For me, it would be:
    1. The Penseive
    2. The Time-Turner. That would be very handy.
    3. Apparation. The most environmentally friendly mode of traveling.

    Cookie, yeah I did see that about Butterbeer. I feel a road-trip coming on. :)
