We all know crit partners are worth their weight in gold (Need more proof? Read this). People find their critters in so many different ways. I'm lucky enough to have a core group of four buddies who meet every other week to review, edit and critique each others' work.
It is FANTASTIC - they're all so talented, and I continue to learn so much.
How about you guys? What does your crit team look like?
I sort of fit into all of those categories. I have one or two people I ALWAYS send my work to, but I also have a wider circle of people I send my novels to if they aren't busy, but I also find new people now and again too!
ReplyDeleteI have a woman who I critique with online and we've become friends and go to lunch and things now. And I just joined another group that meets face to face. So important to have a good group you can rely on.
ReplyDeleteI'm a blend - I have one I use all the time, one I use sometimes, and the third one is always new.
ReplyDeleteI do have a core group, but they vary and I add on CPs because of the many different genres I write. Most people don't read everything, see.
ReplyDeleteI have two fantastic CPs that I've been with for a while, and then a mix of beta readers. I also have a local critique group that I meet with once a month, but they only do short stories. I've learned a lot from all of them.
ReplyDeleteThat is lucky! I would love to have a core group of four CP'S In the past ten years I've been in six different groups. So far, I have yet to find one that works. Sometimes I leave, other times they do, but so far, I'm still searching.
